in the local market determined by export prices
- Carcass weights required for local market (210-220 kg) are lighter
than for the export market (270-320 kg)
- Local beef market is expected to increase due to population
and tourism growth
- The trend in New Zealand has been a decline in red meat consumption
and an increase in white meat consumption
